The Foxboro FBM240 (Part Number: P0917GZ) is a high-density, high-reliability discrete output module designed for the EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS (formerly I/A Series) automation platform.   1. Baseplate Selection: For non-redundant operation, use a standard 200 Series baseplate. For redundant operation, the FBM240 must be installed on a redundant baseplate (e.g., P0926HF) with its partner module in the adjacent slot.
  2. Termination Assembly (TA): To connect the 8 output channels to field devices, a compatible Termination Assembly is required. The TA provides the terminal blocks for field wiring and the entry point for the external DC power supply.
  3. External Power: Ensure the external DC power supply is sized to handle the total current draw of all 8 channels simultaneously (up to 8 Amps). Use fused power distribution for added safety.
  4. Software Configuration: Use the Control Editor or IACC to configure the module. Assign the FBM type as FBM240 and map the Boolean output tags to the respective hardware channels.
  5. Hot Swapping: The module supports hot swapping. To replace a module in a redundant pair, simply pull the faulted module and insert a new one; the system will automatically synchronize the new module.
