Description

The GE IS200VCRCH1B is a Mark VI VCRC Discrete Input/Output Board used in GE Speedtronic gas and steam turbine control systems. It provides contact-input and relay-output functions and is designed as a narrower, single-slot alternative to the VCCC board because it does not require the VCCC daughterboard.

The board interfaces with TBCI contact-input terminal boards and TRLY relay terminal boards. Its front panel provides J33 and J44 connections for the contact-input wiring, while relay outputs use the J3/J4 connections on the VME rack.

Key Features

  • GE Mark VI Speedtronic turbine-control hardware
  • IS200VCRCH1B VCRC board
  • Discrete input/output functionality
  • 48 dry-contact input channels
  • Up to 24 relay/solenoid outputs depending on terminal-board configuration
  • Single VME-slot design
  • No VCCC daughterboard required
  • J33 and J44 front-panel connectors
  • RUN, FAIL and STATUS LEDs
  • Designed for industrial turbine control applications

Functional Description

The IS200VCRCH1B receives discrete contact signals from field devices through the TBCI terminal boards. Up to 48 dry-contact inputs can be handled, with the inputs used for monitoring turbine-related conditions and status signals. The Mark VI system can also provide sequence-of-events recording for important contact signals, with timing resolution reported at approximately 1 ms.

For output functions, the VCRC works with TRLY relay terminal hardware. Depending on the configuration, relay circuits can be used for solenoids or dry Form-C contact outputs. Some relay circuits can use external 125 VDC, 115 VAC, or optional 24 VDC sources with appropriate fusing and suppression.

Typical Applications

  • GE gas turbine control
  • GE steam turbine control
  • Turbine protection systems
  • Generator auxiliary control
  • Discrete field-signal monitoring
  • Solenoid control
  • Sequence-of-events monitoring
  • GE Mark VI maintenance and retrofit projects

Installation & Configuration

  1. Verify the complete board number IS200VCRCH1B.
  2. Confirm the Mark VI VME I/O rack configuration.
  3. Check the existing TBCI and TRLY terminal boards.
  4. Record all cable and connector positions before removal.
  5. Power down the VME I/O rack.
  6. Install the board in the correct VME slot.
  7. Secure the front-panel retaining hardware.
  8. Connect J33/J44 field-input cables as specified.
  9. Verify the associated J3/J4 relay connections.
  10. Restore system power.
  11. Check RUN, FAIL and STATUS indicators.
  12. Test discrete inputs and relay outputs before returning the turbine system to normal operation.

⚠️ Replacement Note

The supplied listing calls this a “VCRC Digital I/O Control Card.” A more precise description is VCRC Discrete Input/Output Board / Contact Input & Relay Output Board. Technical references identify it as a Mark VI board with 48 contact inputs and relay-output functionality.

One important distinction: VCRC and VCCC are functionally similar, but they are not physically identical. The VCRC uses one VME slot and does not require the VCCC daughterboard, while the VCCC arrangement occupies more rack space. The VCRC also requires front-panel cabling for the contact inputs.

Do not substitute IS200VCRCH1B based solely on the “Mark VI” designation. Verify the complete board number, hardware revision, terminal boards, rack position, and field wiring before replacement.
