Model Comparison
The IS230SRTDH2A is the “S-style” or DIN-rail mountable version, which is significantly more compact than the legacy IS200TRTDH1A used in the original Mark VI “V-rack” cabinets. While the IS230SRTDH1A (H1A) is commonly used for standard 3-wire RTDs, the H2A revision includes updated hardware specifications for better compatibility with 4-wire RTD configurations and enhanced isolation between channels. Unlike the IS230STCIH1A (Contact Input board), the SRTD uses specialized precision resistors and excitation circuitry specifically calibrated for temperature-dependent resistance changes, making it non-interchangeable with general analog boards.
Operation Tips
- Lead Compensation: When using 3-wire RTDs, ensure all three wires have identical resistance; the IS230SRTDH2A compensates for lead length, but unequal wire resistance will cause temperature offsets.
- Shielding Protocol: RTD cables are highly sensitive to noise; ensure the cable shield is grounded at the SRTD board terminal and remains continuous up to the sensor head to prevent “jitter” in readings.
- I/O Pack Pairing: This board is typically paired with the IS220PRTDH1A I/O pack. Ensure the pack is firmly seated and the mounting screws are tightened to maintain a reliable connection to the terminal pins.
- Open Circuit Check: The Mark VIe diagnostics will flag an “Open Loop” if a sensor is disconnected; use the ToolboxST software to verify which specific channel is faulted before physically inspecting the turbine-side wiring.
