Product Description
The ICS Triplex 9100 (T8110B) is the main processing engine for the Trusted™ Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) controller. Designed for the most critical safety and control applications, the Trusted system provides maximum availability by utilizing three identical sub-processors on a single module.
The 9100 Processor performs the system executive functions, executes the user application program, and manages the highly secure TMR voting of all I/O data. It uses a high-speed, hardware-implemented voting mechanism that identifies and isolates faults without interrupting the control process. This ensures that even in the event of a hardware failure, the process remains under control and safety is never compromised.

Application Areas
- Emergency Shutdown (ESD): Immediate and reliable shutdown of hazardous industrial processes.
- Fire and Gas (F&G) Systems: Monitoring and responding to flame, smoke, and toxic gas detection.
- Burner Management Systems (BMS): Controlling the safe ignition and operation of industrial boilers and furnaces.
- Turbine Control: High-availability regulation of steam and gas turbines in power generation.
- Subsea Control: High-reliability monitoring for offshore oil and gas production platforms.
Product Specifications

Operating Precautions
- Module Replacement: The Trusted system supports hot-standby and hot-swapping. However, ensure the “Healthy” LED is active on the companion processor before removing a suspected faulty module to maintain TMR integrity.
- Firmware Consistency: When updating or replacing the 9100 processor, ensure that the firmware version is compatible with the version of ICST Workbench or ISaGRAF used to develop the application.
- Inter-Module Bus (IMB): Ensure the backplane connectors are free of debris. The IMB is the lifeline of the TMR system; any corruption here can lead to a “Degraded” status.
- Battery Backup: The module utilizes a backup battery for memory retention. Regularly check the system diagnostic logs for “Low Battery” warnings to avoid data loss during a power cycle.
