Product Description
The MPC4 is the “brain” of the Vibro-Meter VM600 rack. It is a four-channel machinery protection card capable of measuring various parameters including vibration (acceleration, velocity, displacement), dynamic pressure, and position.
The 200-560-101-015 (IOC4T) is the necessary companion card that sits directly behind the MPC4 in the rack. It provides the physical screw terminals for field wiring and contains the four mechanical relays used for “Alert” and “Danger” shutdowns. This pair is designed to meet the stringent requirements of API 670 and is SIL 2 capable, ensuring high-integrity monitoring for critical rotating assets.
Application Areas
- Power Generation: Vibration monitoring on large steam and gas turbines.
- Oil & Gas: Protection for centrifugal compressors and high-pressure pumps.
- Hydro-Power: Air-gap and vibration monitoring on hydroelectric generators.
- Industrial: Monitoring for large fans, motors, and gearboxes.

Operational Precautions
- Pairing Requirement: An MPC4 card must be used with an IOC4T card. Ensure the part numbers are compatible with your specific system software (MPS) version.
- Hot-Swapping: While the VM600 supports hot-swapping, it is recommended to “Logic-Inhibit” the slot via software before removal to prevent false trips on the mechanical relays.
- Terminal Torque: On the IOC4T (200-560-101-015), ensure terminal screws are tightened correctly. Loose connections on vibration sensors can induce high-frequency “noise” that may trigger false alarms.
- Configuration: The card is fully software-configurable. Use the MPS (Machinery Protection System) software to define sensor sensitivity (mV/g or mV/mil) and alarm setpoints before commissioning.
