Description
The Triconex 3006 is an EMP II Main Processor Module used in Tricon safety instrumented systems. It is designed for Tricon v9.0–v9.5 systems and provides the central processing function for safety and control logic. The 3006 uses a fault-tolerant architecture with dedicated communication and I/O processors, dual power regulation, and TriBus communication.
The processor is based on a National NS32GX32 32-bit CPU running at 25 MHz, paired with an NS32381 floating-point processor. Compared with the closely related Model 3007, the 3006 provides 2 MB SRAM, while the 3007 uses 1 MB.
The module is intended for legacy Tricon safety-control installations where deterministic processing, fault tolerance, and continuous system availability are important. It is commonly maintained as a replacement or spare processor for existing Tricon systems.

Installation & Use
