Description
Product Introduction
⚙️ Product: 3564
🏷️ Brand: TRICONEX
🛡️ System: Tricon Safety Instrumented System
📥 Product Type: Single Digital Input Module
The TRICONEX 3564 is a 64-point, 24 VDC Digital Input Module designed for Tricon safety systems. It is a simplex input module intended for safety-critical applications where cost efficiency is important while maintaining fail-safe operation.
🔌 The module accepts commoned 24 VDC digital field signals across 64 input points. Its input range is 15–30 VDC, with a maximum input voltage of 36 VDC. The module includes self-test circuitry that detects stuck-ON and stuck-OFF conditions in less than 0.5 seconds.
🛡️ Unlike a fully triplicated Tricon digital input module, the 3564 uses a single-module architecture with selected signal-path portions triplicated for safe operation. A hot-spare arrangement can be used to improve availability during module replacement or failure.

📊 Digital Field Signal Monitoring
Installation & Use
🛠️ Before installation, verify the 3564 module version, Tricon chassis compatibility, field termination panel, wiring arrangement, and 24 VDC field supply.
🔌 Confirm that the field voltage remains within the specified 15–30 VDC operating range. Check commoned input wiring and terminal assignments before energizing the module.
💡 After startup, check the PASS, FAULT, and ACTIVE indicators and verify the individual input status LEDs. Confirm that field contact transitions are correctly detected by the Tricon controller.
📊 For replacement work, verify the hot-spare configuration if one is installed. A module change can briefly produce an OFF indication during transfer to the healthy spare, so the control application should be checked for the expected behavior.
⚠️ The 3564 is a simplex digital input module, not a full TMR input module. For safety-system maintenance, confirm that the existing application specifically calls for the 3564 before substituting another Tricon digital input model.
