- Redundant vs. Non-Redundant Replacement:
- In a Redundant Pair: A standby controller card can be inserted or replaced while the active controller continues to run the process. The new card automatically synchronizes firmware and control strategy upon insertion.
- In a Standalone (Simplex) Setup: Replacing the SE3007 requires taking the node offline. Back up the controller configuration from DeltaV Diagnostics / Explorer prior to decommissioning.
- Firmware Baseline Matching: When installing a new or replacement SE3007 card, use the DeltaV Controller Upgrade Utility to auto-flash the card’s firmware so that it matches the major/minor software version running on the DeltaV ProPlus/Engineering Workstation.
- Carrier Latch Verification: Ensure top and bottom carrier locking tabs are fully engaged when installing the card to establish a secure ground plane and power pin engagement on the backplane.
